Your characterization of #SFBARF/@sfyimby as real-estate interests’ front group is easily refuted by looking at its disclosed funding, members, & discussions: see https://t.co/4aG9G090eV, https://t.co/VQRASXqCpn, & https://t.co/ZcTIS4fTEP.

SFBARF’s stated mission is “increasing stock of available housing”; evaluating as if just a tenants-rights org, is a red herring. The organization represents a broad spectrum of people who believe that it’s fundamentally in the interests of all renters, movers, and newcomers to address to region’s urgent shortage of available housing.

Older-generation tenants’ organizations such as yours take a different view of who you represent and what their interests are. Which you are quite welcome to do; but as shown by SFBARF’s burgeoning membership, volunteer activity (such as mine), local political/land-use impact, and wide media coverage, the org is speaking to and for a lot of San Franciscans’ concerns. Perhaps it simply shows a need for a broader platform and constituency than how you’ve defined your organization.
